Scale drawing

This is my scale drawing.  We enlarge the image we choose by using a grid method.  I used a scale factor of 2.  We draw squares on the paper to help us with drawing the picture and to locate where to draw.  I am proud of my drawing because it looks so real!

Today I made some Wacky Tales.  Here is my favourite one.

An Invitation

Please come to a surprise party for Kristine on 26/8/13.

Lots of Luxury Roasted Chicken and Cream Mushroom Soup will be served. Please come to the party hungry!

There will be games, such as Rose races, and a contest to see who can Sit the fastest. We will play lots of songs, and there may even be some Sipping.

The theme of the party will be Shiny Candle. During the party, everyone can make a hat decorated with Shiny Candle. Be sure to wear Silk gown to protect your Hair.

Since this is a surprise party, please be sure to arrive at least 12 minutes early. Everyone will be Dancing in the living room. When Kristine arrives, we will jump up and Softlyyell, “OMG!!”

Please don't talk about the party at school. It would be very Beautiful if Kristine found out about her surprise party.

We hope that you can make it to the party. Please bring a small Glass Heel for Kristine. See you on 26/8/13!

Lazy Day at Home

“Mmmm”, I took a sip again.  My thick, creamy, hot chocolate is covered with soft, cloud-like cream.  I laid my back on the squishy sofa.  The sun is shining on my eyes,  I put the curtains down.  My mum stays in her room.  I don’t want to go outside, although it’s the perfect weather.  It is the quietest day ever.  My brother is at his friend’s birthday party, my dad took my sister outside.  Which leaves only my mum and me at home.  I took a sip again.

When I finished my hot chocolate, I went to my mum’s bedroom.  I hopped on my Dad’s computer.  Of course, I played computer games.  Everyone online is playing Give Up Robot, so do I.  Plus I’m kind of good at that game.  I got up to level 43, but I’m stuck on 44.

So I gave up and played other games.  In the next 30 minutes, I played Poptropica.  It asked me a pop quiz.  ‘If you win 100 million dollars, what will you  do?’

I choose B.  Then I logged off.  I tried to do X-tra maths, but it says that it is getting ready for the new school term so I couldn't get on.

At last, I’m so bored that I want to watch my mum play on the Ipad.  From last month, she is ‘addicted’ to Hay Day, an ipad game.  She goes on that everyday.  So, she levels up very quickly.  Within a week, she levels up 10.  Do the calculation, if you level up 10 each week and there’s 4 weeks in a month.  Yes, she’s on level 47.  I sat beside her.  “Can I fish on your game?” I asked.  There’s a river at the side of the farm, inside the river is a fishing boat and a  dock for ferry-like boats.  If you tap on the fishing boat, it’ll take you to a fishing ground.  “Wait for another 30 minutes, the hook is nearly done.” She said.  I watched silently.  30 minutes have passed. “Can I fish now?” I asked again.  My mum collected the fishing hook and gave it to me.  I dropped the hook.  A fish is on the hook!  I drag and drag, still it hasn't give up.  At last, I got the fish.  It is a new specie, called ’Blue Striped Bass‘.  It gave us 3 diamonds.

I watched TV till my dad got home.  Then my brother got home too.  “Our groceries are nearly finished.” My mum said.  “That means we’re going to New World!” My dad shouted with joy. “Noooooooooo!” I shouted.  My lazy day is going to a end!

Swimming

Last week our school got a pool.  Each class takes turn to swim in the pool, our class's turn is Tuesday & Thursday after morning tea.  We went into the pool.  It was so cold!  After a minute the pool went warm.  We are learning to do a Stream Line, you put your arms behind your ears and go into the water, kicking with your feet.  We repeated this for 4 times, across the pool.  Then we grabbed noodle form and we had a partner race.  The person at the front is running and the person at the back is kicking.  The first time we came second ant the second time we came second to last.  The hardest bit is when you go into the changing room and it is so so cold.

I finished the game and I learnt that you time the side and bottom of a surface and you get the area.
