Yesterday we went to Howick Historical Village. It was great fun! We went there by bus. The ladies working there greeted us when we got down the bus. "Hello, children!" the ladies said.
First we we went to Pakuranga School. Mrs. White gave us some toys to play with. I like the little bird that knock the wood when you turn the ball at the bottom. My favourite one is marble roll. Alazay blocked all the marbles and when she let go, all the marbles stuck at the side.
"That's too much, one at a time please." Mrs. White said.
Then we went to an old school. Mrs. White is our teacher, we came in. Girls curtsey and boys bow. We sat in rolls, Alazay sat next to me. Mrs. White checked our nails and palms.
We did 5 times tables, history about Queen Victoria and spelling competition. When we finished, we curtsey and bow to the teacher again.
At last, we went to the outdoor games. Mrs Hills showed us how to walk on stilts, walk on tree stomps, play 'graces' which is to teach girls how to be graces and play a metal ring.
Stilts is the hardest.
We had lunch, then we go around the village and go into the buildings in groups. I'm in Glennis's group, which is Savannah's mum. My favourite place is the Dame School, with a slate board to write with. Savannah wrote on the slate board: GLENNIS"S GROUP CAME HERE.
After 1 hour, we got back to the place that we had lunch and went back on the bus. We wave to the ladies until we can't see them anymore. I was so tired on the bus I nearly fell asleep.
IT WAS A GREAT TRIP!
