Term 2 Summary

Self-Management:
I do always have enough power for my netbook.
I also always finish homework.

Reading:
I achieved my goal of inferencing and understanding the author's message.
This is because I tried to think of how the author felt, and what the characters are implying.

Writing:
I achieved half of my goal of using more language feature.
I used more features this term, but not similes and metaphors.

Maths:
I now understand what a factor and a common multiple is.

Inquiry:
I learnt that in the first world war, people used pigeons to send messages.
Also, animals such as monkeys acted as mascots.

Rm6 2015

Today is my first day at school as a year 8. Nothing has changed except our teacher, and a few more new students. I feel a mixture of anxiety and excitement, and I hope not to lose stationary. My goal is to master shading with pencil and finish the LOTR book before the term ends. I would like to make new friends and make more blog posts.

Netbook Reflection 2013

Netbook Reflection 2013

How has having a netbook connected to the internet helped my learning this year?

I learnt how to tell the time with my teacher, and I learnt by myself how to use Wikipedia and Google to search for facts and use Tux Paint.  I learnt how to insert bookmarks and go on the class site from my friends.  I learnt fractions and decimals from a librarian in the after school care.  I helped a new student open/create a new document, log in to google, how to make bookmarks, and how to go on websites.  Having a netbook helped me to relate to others by using Gmail, helped my thinking skills by an app that teach you how to work out hard equations, how to learn numbers and text by Xtra maths and Ebooks, it helped me managing self by having all the things on the class site and I don’t need to ask anyone very often.  I learned how to participate and contributing by playing team sports.

Film Festival Reflection

Yesterday, the 14th of November, hundreds of school went to silverpark, hoyts cinema to take part in the film festival.  We participate too.  My favourite movie is Grumpy bear from Glenbrae School and Ash in the Air from our school.  I saw one of my friend in the movie.  I would like to try Doctor Who and movies from St. Patricks.  I think it is good to have a film festival because schools can share their learning and their videos.

Evening Performance Night 1

I was pleased with my performance because I shouted my line so everyone can hear. I am also pleased with my class because they have big actions and energy. We still need to work on timing, no talking and go down stage quicker. We can make our class performance better last night by singing and doing more big actions. We need to remember to stop talking when coming on stage, baby footsteps when coming on and off and no talking when coming off stage. We also need to remember to stop shouting when the other classes come on stage.

My Speech Reflection

My speech topic was there should be a town for children.

My voice was loud but not clear because I’m nervous.

I stood still and relaxed.

The hardest part of speeches was remembering it.

I am proud that I made some eye contact.

Next time I will try to remember my speech and use a clear voice.

Olden Days Handwriting

We did handwriting with a toothpick and ink because we are trying to feel what kids in the olden days write with.
I found it hard because the ink always dries out and it drips very often.

Netbook reflection

My name is Mengchun, I’m a year 5 student at Panmure Bridge School, my class is room 7, my teacher is Mrs Miller.

The things I like most about my netbook are you could work faster and the teacher can set you fun activities on Studyladder and Sumdog.  Only I can go on my netbook because I have my own password and I can go on websites to help me with my homework.

Sometimes my netbook doesn’t work probably because the internet is slow and my mouse doesn’t work so I have to restart it.  I can’t play games on my netbook or go on facebook or youtube.

The unusual thing about my netbook is that you can have a special drawing tool.  This is my netbook reflection.
